Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Class 8 or read up to Class 12. Candidates who possess a Graduate Degree or above shall be ineligible to apply for the said post.

How to apply

Applicants must use the Standard Form provided in the Gazette Part IX of the Government of Assam. They should include self-attested copies of all necessary documents, including educational qualifications, age, caste, valid Employment Exchange Registration Card, valid Driving License, and relevant Experience Certificates.

Three recent passport-size photographs, signed on the reverse side, must be submitted along with the application.

The application should be sent to the Office of the District and Sessions Judge, Jorhat.

Selection Process

Terms and Conditions

• Candidates must be Indian Citizens as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
• Candidates must have their names registered in the Employment Exchange, and the registration should be valid at the time of application submission.
• Candidates currently serving in a government department should submit their applications through the proper channel.
• Candidates must have passed at least Class VIII or up to Class XII. Graduates and those with higher degrees are ineligible for this post.
• Providing false information or concealing educational qualifications will result in immediate rejection of the candidature and potential legal consequences.
• Applicants must possess a valid LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) Driving License issued by a competent authority.
• Applicants should provide their Mobile Numbers in the application form.
• The last date for application submission is 23.11.2023. No applications will be accepted after this date.
• Eligible candidates will undergo a screening written test, followed by a driving test and viva-voce.
• The screening written test (Objective Type) is for 50 marks and has a duration of 1 hour. It covers General Knowledge (20 marks), Road Sign Recognition (20 marks), and Assamese language (10 marks). The Screening Test is of a qualifying nature, and marks obtained will not be considered for the final selection. Shortlisted candidates will proceed to the driving test and viva-voce.
• The driving test includes segments such as Starting, Driving, Parking, and After Driving (10 marks for each segment, total 40 marks).
• The driving test will be followed by a 10-mark interview/viva-voce. The final selection will be based on the sum total of marks obtained in the driving test and viva-voce.
• Individual call letters will not be sent. Lists of candidates for the screening written test, driving test, and viva voce will be published on the official website of Jorhat District Judiciary.
• Interview Center: Jorhat (Date and Venues will be provided on the official website).
• No T.A./D.A. will be provided for attending the interview process.
• Late, incomplete, or improperly documented applications will be rejected.
• Direct or indirect canvassing will result in disqualification.
