Educational qualifications

To be eligible for this position, the candidate must have completed their graduation in Arts, Science, Commerce, or an equivalent stream from a college or institution that is recognized and affiliated with a recognized university.

Pay Scale

The pay scale for this position is RS 14000- 60500 (Pay Band No.2), along with a Grade Pay of RS 8700/- and other applicable allowances as per the rules.

Physical Standard– Minimum Height Requirements for Males- 162.56 cm for candidates belonging to Gen/OBC/MOBC/SC and 160.02 cm for candidates belonging to ST(H)/ST(P).

For Female- 154.94 cm for candidates belonging to Gen/OBC/MOBC/SC and 152.40 cm for candidates belonging to ST(H)/ST(P).

Chest Requirements (Only for Males): a) Normal: 80 cm for candidates belonging to Gen/OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P) and 78 cm for candidates belonging to ST(H).

Expanded: 85 cm for candidates belonging to Gen/OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P) and 83 cm for candidates belonging to ST(H).

Age- The age of the candidate should be between 20 and 26 years as of 01-01-2023. In other words, the candidate must be born on or before 01-01-2003 and on or after 01-01-1997.

The upper age limit can be relaxed for certain categories. Candidates belonging to SC, ST (P), and ST (H) will receive a relaxation of 5 (five) years, while candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC will receive a relaxation of 3 (three) years.

The SLPRB will only consider the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate issued by a recognized education board for determining the age limit.

No other documents, such as horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from municipal corporations, service records, etc., will be accepted as proof of age.

How to apply

To apply, candidates must submit their applications online through the SLPRB website mentioned below. No other forms of application will be accepted.

The following steps should be followed while submitting the online application:

Register on the portal using a valid mobile number. (Note: Candidates are advised to keep the mobile number unchanged until the recruitment process is complete)

After successful registration, candidates will receive a Recruitment ID. If a candidate generates multiple recruitment IDs, their candidature will be canceled.

Required Documents

Certificate of proof of age, such as an admit card or certificate of H.S.L.C. or equivalent examination.

Graduation Pass Certificate, such as BA/B.Sc/B.Com, or equivalent examination.

Mark sheet of Graduation, such as BA/B.Sc/B.Com, or equivalent examination.

Employment Exchange Registration Card.

Caste Certificate from a Competent Authority. No caste certificate issued by other states will be accepted.

NCC certificate issued by a Competent Authority, if applicable (to claim weightage marks).

Selection Procedure– Candidates who submit applications that are correct in all respects will be invited to participate in a Written Test. The date and location(s) of the test will be communicated in due course of time.

The Chairman reserves the right to alter the test location and no representations will be entertained in this regard.

Written Test- The written test will be completely OMR based and will be of 100 marks. There will be 100 questions, and each question will be worth 1 () mark. For each incorrect response, there will be a negative marking of ½ mark.

The test will consist of three parts: (i) Logical Reasoning, Aptitude, and English Comprehension, (ii) Matters relating to the History and Culture of Assam and India, and (iii) General Knowledge. Candidates must use a black or dark blue ball pen to complete the OMR-based answer sheet.

The question paper for the Written Exam will be in the following languages: English/Assamese/Bodo/Bengali.

Physical Standard Test– In order to be selected for the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), candidates will be called in the order of merit, at a rate of five times the number of vacancies allotted for each category as mentioned in Para I, based on the marks obtained in the written test.

In cases where candidates have scored the same marks as the last candidate selected for PST & PET based on the 5 times formula, all candidates with the same score will also be called for the PST & PET. Therefore, the number of candidates called for PST & PET may exceed the 5 times rate for that particular case and category only.

Assam career job 2023, Important Points-

i. Any attempt at canvassing, whether directly or indirectly, will result in the disqualification of the candidate for the post.

ii. Candidates will not be eligible for reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses at any stage of the recruitment process.

iii. The selection list does not guarantee an appointment, and the department must be satisfied with the candidate’s suitability after a thorough medical examination and any other necessary inquiries and verifications before appointing them to the service/post.

iv. Candidates must attend all stages of the recruitment process; failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their candidature.

v. Candidates whose applications do not conform to the official format, contain incomplete or incorrect information, lack necessary certificates, or contain misrepresentations or impersonation will have their candidature summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process.

vi. The selection list will remain valid for one year from the date of the result announcement or until the next similar post advertisement is released, whichever comes first.

vii. The Assam Police Act, 2007, and the Government’s rules and orders will govern appointed candidates.

viii. Appointed candidates will be eligible for pension benefits under the existing scheme at the time of appointment.

ix. The Chairman of the SLPRB, Assam, has the authority to modify, cancel, or postpone the recruitment process for specific reasons.

x. The physical tests are strenuous, and only candidates in good medical condition should participate. The Assam Police and SLPRB will not be held responsible for any injury or casualty sustained by a candidate during the tests due to a pre-existing medical condition.

xi. If fake documents, false information, or misrepresentations are detected at any stage before or after the appointment, the candidate’s candidature will be rejected, and they may face criminal proceedings under existing law.

xii. Selected candidates must sign an agreement stating that they will serve a minimum of three years after successful completion of training or repay the government’s cost of training and travel expenses.

xiii. In the event of any clarification, the decision of the SLPRB will be final.

xiv. The number of vacancies may change at any stage of the recruitment process due to administrative reasons, and appointment to such vacancies will be determined by the competent authority based on the final merit list and category.

xv. Final appointment is subject to a satisfactory Police Verification Report and Final Medical Examination Report as per existing norms. Candidates with unsatisfactory reports will have their candidature rejected outright.

xvi. The prevailing rules and regulations, terms and conditions of training, and post-training will apply to the Assam Police.
