Assam career – In the context of the Stray Round Online Counselling for admission into the first-year MBBS/BDS courses in Assam’s Government Medical and Dental Colleges for the session 2023.

It is hereby announced that the Directorate will oversee this event. Eligible candidates, who have successfully passed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG-2023) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), are invited to participate in the Online Counselling process.

To qualify, candidates must meet all the specified eligibility criteria outlined in the 2017 Rules for Admission into 1st-year MBBS/BDS courses in the Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam, as amended up to 2023, and achieve the prescribed NEET-UG-2023 cutoff score.

However, it is essential to note, in accordance with an order dated 22/07/2023 from the Honorable Supreme Court of India, and the guidelines detailed in the Information Bulletin and Counselling Scheme for 2023 published by the Medical Counselling Committee (Point 6 at Page 8), that candidates who have already secured admission up to the third round of All India Quota (AIQ) or State Quota are ineligible to participate in subsequent rounds, whether for All India Quota or State Quota.

Important Points

The Online Counselling Portal will be accessible through the official website of this Directorate, www.dme.assam.gov.in, commencing on 23/09/2023 (up to 11:55 PM).

Following the completion of the Online Registration process, candidates may proceed with Online Choice Filling and Locking, available until 24/09/2023 (up to 11:55 PM).

The system will automatically lock choices if not done so manually by the candidate before the specified deadline.

Seat allotment processing will occur between 25/09/2023 and 26/09/2023.

Subsequently, the results, along with admission modalities, will be posted on 27/09/2023.

Provisionally selected candidates must complete their admissions at the respective allocated institutions as instructed, between 29/09/2023 and 30/09/2023.
