Assam New Scholarship – Online applications are invited by the Director of Higher Education, Assam for the Combined Merit Scholarship Scheme 2023-24. Applications are invited from enthusiastic students of Assam who meet the following eligibility criteria for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the Combined Merit Degree Scholarship must have a minimum of 60% in their Higher Secondary Final year.

Applicants for the Combined Merit Master Degree Scholarship must have a minimum of 60% in their General Degree Course.

Eligible students must be pursuing the 1st semester of a general Degree or Master Degree course in Arts/Science/Commerce at a provincialized/Government College or a State/Central University in Assam for the 2023-24 academic session.

Applicants must be domiciled in Assam.

Students must possess an active bank account in their name, preferably in SBI, and provide the necessary details (Bank Name, A/c Number, Branch Name, IFSC Code) as scholarships will be disbursed through the DBT system.

Candidates should hold relevant qualifications from a recognized institution. Selection will be based solely on merit, subject to budget allocation.

Incomplete applications or those with incorrect information and inactive account numbers may be subject to cancellation. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of your application.

Financial Assistance

Under graduate course: RS 450 per month.

Post Graduate course: RS 500 per month.

How to Apply

Intending students who meet the above criteria should apply online at scholarship application portal from November 1, 2023, to November 30, 2023. After completing the online application, take a printout and submit the hard copy, along with necessary copies of certificates/documents, to the Registrar/Principal/Head of the Institute.

Assam New Scholarship, Selection Process

A committee at the college or university level will verify the applications and relevant documents according to guidelines and instructions. After verification, the Registrar, Principal, Head of the Institutions should submit the valid online application form with all relevant certificates and documents to the “Office of Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-781019, under their seal and signature on or before December 7, 2023”.

Photocopy of the 1st page of the active bank account.
Final mark sheet of the last qualifying examinations (H.S./UG).
Photograph and Signature of the candidate.
Aadhaar Card.

Scholarship Advertisement for Minority Girls 2023-2024

Online applications are now open for the Minority Girls Scholarship Scheme 2023-2024. We invite applications from eligible, domiciled girls belonging to the minority community in Assam who meet the following criteria for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for Minority Girls Scholarship Degree (UG) must have a minimum of 50% in their Higher Secondary Final year. Applicants for Minority Girls Scholarship Degree (PG) must have a minimum of 50% in their General Degree Course.

Eligible students must be pursuing the 1st semester of a General Degree or Master Degree course in Arts/Science/Commerce at a provincialized/Government College or a State University for the 2023-2024 academic session.

Applicants must be domiciled in Assam.

Applicants must belong to a notified minority community: Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis. A self-certified community certificate is required.

The annual income of parents/guardians should not exceed RS 2.00 lakh. Income Certificate from the competent state authority is mandatory.

Students must have an active bank account, preferably in SBI, and provide the necessary details (Bank Name, A/c Number, Branch Name, IFSC Code) as scholarships will be disbursed through DBT.

Selection will be based on the budgetary provision for 2023-2024.

Scholarship Amount

Unser Graduate level: RS 6,000 per year

Post Graduate level: RS 10,000 per year

Scholarship Duration and Renewal

The scholarship may be renewed for the next academic year of the same course and Institute if the student successfully clears all papers and maintains at least 50% marks and 75% attendance.

Violation of institute discipline or scholarship terms and conditions may result in suspension or cancellation.

Obtaining a scholarship through false statements will result in immediate cancellation, and the amount will be recovered by the State Government.
