Educational qualifications

The minimum educational qualification required is to have passed Class VI from a recognized school or institution. The maximum qualification accepted is HSSLC or Class XII from a recognized board or council. In addition to this, candidates can earn 5 marks through additional diploma qualifications such as a Training Certificate issued by the Sector Skill Council (SSC) or a work experience certificate of at least one year from a registered NGO, Municipality Board, or Government Department. The work experience certificate should reflect the registration number of the registered NGO.

Physical Standard

The physical standards for these positions are divided into several categories. For height, the minimum requirements for male candidates are 160 cm for General, OBC, MOBC, and SC candidates, and 158 cm for ST (H) and ST (P) candidates. For female candidates, the minimum height requirements are 150 cm for General, OBC, MOBC, and SC candidates, and 147.5 cm for ST (H) and ST (P) candidates. These requirements ensure that candidates are able to perform the required tasks.

The chest measurements are also taken into account for male candidates. The minimum requirements for chest measurement are 80 cm normal and 85 cm expanded for General, OBC, MOBC, SC, and ST (P) candidates, and 77 cm normal and 82 cm expanded for ST (H) candidates.

Job in Assam, Medical Standard

To meet the medical standards, candidates must have normal eyesight without any squint and possess high color vision. The varicose vein will only be considered a temporary disqualification. Additionally, they must be physically and mentally fit, free from any physical deformities, and not suffer from diseases such as diabetes, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases, or any other ailment that may hinder their ability to perform their duties efficiently.

Pay Scale– These positions fall under the pay scale of RS 12000 to 52000 with Pay Band 1, with Grade pay of RS 3900 and other admissible allowances under the rules.

Age- Candidates’ age must not be less than 18 years and more than 40 years of age as of 01/01/2023.

Selection Procedure

Physical Standard Test

After the documents are verified, candidates will appear for the PST (Physical Standard Test) which carries no marks. The height, weight, and chest measurements (for males only) will be taken using the latest technology, and candidates will be examined by a Medical Officer for preliminary check-ups such as Knocked Knee, Vision Test, Colour Blindness Test, Flatfoot, Varicose Vein, Physical Deformities, etc. Candidates who pass the PST will then appear for the Trade Efficiency Test in their respective trade, which will be decided by a Panel of Experts.

Final merit list

Maximum Marks- 50 Passing Marks: 33%, Persons traditionally engaged in safari works will be given preference for recruitment to the extent of 25% of interview marks.

The final merit lists will be prepared based on the marks scored in the Trade Proficiency Test.

Candidates will not have any claim or right for selection solely on the grounds that they secured the minimum 33% qualifying standards in the Trade Proficiency Test. There will be only one merit list for each category as per the vacancies shown in Para I above for the entire state, and the select list will be prepared for the exact number of vacancies to be filled up.

Job in Assam Important Points

(i) Any attempt to directly or indirectly influence the recruitment process will disqualify the candidate from the post.

(ii) Candidates will not be provided any travel allowance or daily allowance during any stage of the recruitment process.

(viii) Appointed candidates will be eligible for pension benefits according to the prevailing pension scheme at the time of appointment.

(ix) The Chairman of the SLPRB reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the recruitment process based on specific reasons.

(x) If any candidate is found to have submitted fake documents, false information, or misrepresented facts, they will be disqualified at any stage of the process, and legal action may be taken against them as per existing law.

(xi) In case of any queries, the decision of the SLPRB will be final.

xii) The number of vacancies may change at any point during the recruitment process due to administrative reasons, and the appointment to these vacancies will be made based on merit and category, as per the final merit list, by the competent authority at the time of appointment.

xiii) The final appointment of selected candidates is subject to a satisfactory Police Verification Report and Final Medical Examination Report, as per the existing norms. If the reports are found unsatisfactory, the candidate’s candidature will be rejected.

xiv) The regulations and terms and conditions related to training and subsequent employment will be as applicable in the respective department.
