Applications are now open for the Sports Talent Search Scholarship (STSS) for the year 2023-24. Eligible players from Assam are invited to apply, subject to the following terms and conditions.

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a citizen of India and a resident of Assam.
- For School Students: The applicant should not be more than 19 years old as of 31st March 2023.
- For Non-Students, College, and University Students: The applicant should not be more than 25 years old as of 31st March 2023.
- A relaxation of 5 years is granted in case of Para Olympic and Special Olympic players.
Choice of Discipline
Applicants must apply in only one discipline in which they achieved their highest performance during the financial year from 01/04/2022 to 31/03/2023 in National and State Level championships.
Eligibility Criteria for Teams and Individuals
All members of Winners and Runners-up Teams in the case of Team Events, and First, Second, and Third position holders in Individual Events in State/National Level championships are eligible to apply for the Sports Talent Search Scholarship.
Basis of Scholarship Award
The Sports Talent Search Scholarship will be awarded based on performance in: a. State Level Competitions organized by various recognized entities. b. National Level Competitions organized by entities such as the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), National Sports Federations (NSF), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and others.
Scholarship Amount
State Level: Gold Medal – Rs. 12,000.00, Silver Medal – Rs. 10,000.00, Bronze Medal – Rs. 8,000.00.
National Level: Gold Medal – Rs. 20,000.00, Silver Medal – Rs. 18,000.00, Bronze Medal – Rs. 16,000.00.
Employee Exclusion
Full-time employees working in Government Departments, Undertakings, or PSUs are not eligible for the award.
Duration of Scholarship
The Sports Talent Search Scholarship will be awarded for one year and only once.
Application Process
Applicants should collect application forms from their respective District Sports Offices starting from 21st September 2023. The deadline for submitting application forms at their respective District Sports Office is 30th September 2023.

Applications will not be accepted directly by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam, in favor of any applicant. For any inquiries, applicants may contact the District Sports Office of their respective district.
