How to Apply for the posts of Assam Forest Department.

Candidates can apply online from 23.01.2023 to 06.02.2023. Before applying online, candidates should be ready with/ for the following.

Applicants need to submit an online application published on the official website. No other mode for application will be accepted.

Documents needed- Scan copy of the photograph, signature, thumb impression, and handwritten declaration ensuring that both the photograph and signature adhere to the required specifications.

A valid personal email ID and mobile number should be kept active till the completion of this Recruitment Process.

SELECTION PROCEDURE-

Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respect will have to undergo the Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the Selection Committee, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the other tests.

PRELIMINARY VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS- All the original documents along with a set of Photostat copies of the documents will be checked before the candidate is allowed to appear in the PST and PET as per the given eligibility criteria. Candidates who are rejected will be given rejection slips specifying the reason for rejection. Submission of any incorrect information or forged document at any stage will lead to disqualification of the candidate and may also render him / her liable to criminal prosecution.

PHYSICAL STANDARD TEST and PRELIMINARY MEDICAL CHECKUP- After the documents are found correct, the candidates will have to appear in the PST (Physical Standard Test). It will carry no marks. Measurement of the height, weight & chest (Chest measurement is only for males) of the candidates will be done using the latest technology and after which the candidate will be examined by a Medical Officer for preliminary check-ups like knock knee, vision test, color blindness test, flat foot, varicose vein, physical deformities, etc. Once a candidate clears the PST he/she will have to appear in the PET (Physical Efficiency Test).

DRIVING TEST (SKILL TEST) FOR THE POST OF DRIVER CONSTABLE & DRIVER MAXIMUM MARKS -10, PASS MARKS -5 Candidates will be called for the Driving Test (Skill Test) in order of merit based on marks scored in PET at the rate of 10 (ten) times the number of posts allotted in respect of each category.

Important Points-

(i) Canvassing directly or indirectly shall render such candidates unfit for the post.

(ii) Candidates will not receive any reimbursement for travel and accommodation during the recruitment process.

(iii) Being on the selection list does not guarantee the appointment, as candidates must pass a medical examination and any other necessary inquiries and verifications before being appointed to the position.

(iv) Candidates must attend all stages of the recruitment process; failure to do so will result in disqualification. (v) Candidates who do not meet the official format requirements, provide incomplete or incorrect information or misrepresent facts will be immediately disqualified.

(vi) The selection list will remain valid for one year from the date of announcement or until the next advertisement for similar positions, whichever comes first.

(vii) Upon appointment, candidates will be subject to the rules and regulations of both the Forests Department and the government.

(viii) Appointed candidates will be eligible for pension benefits according to the current pension scheme.

(ix) The Chairman of the SLPRB has the authority to make changes to, cancel, or postpone the recruitment process.

(x) Physical tests are demanding, and only candidates in good physical health should participate. The SLPRB and Assam Police will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained during the tests due to pre-existing medical conditions.

(xi) Providing false documents, or information, or misrepresenting facts will result in disqualification and potential legal action.

(xii) Upon selection, candidates will be required to sign an agreement committing to a minimum of 3 years of service after completing training or repay the cost of training and travel expenses.

(xiii) The SLPRB’s decision is final in case of any clarification.

(xiv) The number of available positions is subject to change and will be determined by the competent authority based on merit and category at the time of appointment.

(xv) Final appointment is dependent on satisfactory police verification and medical examination reports. Inadequate reports will result in disqualification.

(xvi) The rules and regulations, terms and conditions of training, and service will be as per the Forests Department, Assam.

    a) Passport Size Photograph :
    Please pay attention to uploading good-quality photographs. The poor quality of the photographs submitted will lead to
    the rejection of your application. The Admit card will be printed with the uploaded photograph.
    i) The photograph must be in color and must be taken in a professional studio. Photographs taken using a
    mobile phone and other self-composed portraits are not acceptable.
    ii) Photographs must be taken on a white background.
    iii) The photograph must have been taken after 1st January 2023.
    iv) Face should occupy about 50% of the area in the photograph, and with a full face, view look into the
    camera directly.
    v) The main features of the face must not be covered by hair of the head, any cloth, or any shadow.

    vi) If you normally wear spectacles, glare on glasses is not acceptable in your photo. Glare can be avoided
    with a slight downward tilt of the glasses for the photo shoot. vii) You must not wear spectacles with dark
    or tinted glasses, only clear glasses are permitted. viii) Ask your photo studio to provide the image in a
    JPEG format and also on a standard 4.5cm x 3.5cm (45mm x 35mm) print. ix) Maximum pixel resolution
    for JPEG: 640 x 480 (0.3 Mega Pixel) (Ask your studio to reduce it to this resolution if it is higher). x)
    Minimum pixel resolution for JPEG: 320 x 240.
    xi) The maximum file size is 450 kb (kilobytes).
    xii) For your own benefit it may be prudent not to intentionally change your facial features or hair style as in
    the photograph until the day of the exam.
    b) Signature:-
    i) Please put your signature with black or dark blue ink on white paper.
    ii) Get the signature digital photograph/image scanned by a professional photo studio, and get the
    image cropped by the studio itself.
    iii) Only JPEG image formats will be accepted.
    iv) The maximum pixel resolution for the image is 800 x 300.
    v) The minimum pixel resolution for the image is 400 x 150.
    vi) Dimension of the signature image should be 3.5cm (width) x 2.5cm (height).
    vii) The maximum file size is 100 kb.
    viii) Mobile phone photograph of the signature is not acceptable and can result in disqualification of the application.
