The Assam Police has announced a job opening with the release of a recruitment notification. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for the 16 available positions of Sub Inspector of Police (Communication) in the Assam Police Radio Organization (APRO).

Age Limit- The age requirement for the candidate is between 20 and 24 years old as of January 1st, 2023. To meet this requirement, the candidate must have been born on or after January 1st, 1999, and on or before January 1st, 2003.

Salary- The salary for these positions falls under Pay Band No 2, with a pay scale of RS 14000 to 60500 plus grade pay of RS 8700, along with other eligible allowances.
How to Apply
The online application process must be completed through the SLPRB website. Any other forms of application will not be accepted. The following steps must be followed during the online application process.
Registering on the portal using a valid mobile number.
After successful registration, candidates will receive a Recruitment ID.
Candidates who generate multiple recruitment IDs will have their candidature canceled.
Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of the following documents:
Application fee- No application fee for the posts of Assam Police Radio Organization (APRO).
Documents needed- Age Verification Documents such as Admit Card or HSLC or equivalent exam certificate.
Certificate of required educational qualifications.
Mark sheet of required educational qualifications.
Employment Exchange Registration Card.
Caste Certificate from authorized authority. Only certificates issued by the state will be accepted.
NCC certificate issued by the authorized authority, if applicable, for the purpose of claiming weightage marks.
Selection Criteria- The written exam for the post of Sub-Inspector (UB) will consist of 100 questions, each worth 1 mark. Incorrect answers will result in a deduction of 0.5 marks. The exam will be based on OMR sheets and will assess the candidate’s logical reasoning, aptitude, and English comprehension, knowledge of the history and culture of Assam and India, and general knowledge.
The test will be conducted in either English, Assamese, Bodo, or Bengali and must be answered using a black or dark blue ballpoint pen. The date and venue of the exam will be communicated later and is subject to change at the discretion of the Chairman. No representations will be accepted regarding the changes in venue.
The candidate who tries to influence the process, will not be considered for the job.
No travel or living expenses will be provided in any part of the recruitment process.
Just being on the selection list does not guarantee a job. The department needs to be satisfied with the candidate’s medical examination and other before offering the job.
Candidates must attend all stages of the recruitment process. If a candidate missed any stage, their application will be canceled.
If a candidate’s application is not in the correct format, has incorrect information, missing required certificates, or is found to have provided false information, will be rejected.
The selection list will only be valid for a year from the date of the announcement.
Once hired, the candidate will be governed by the Assam Police Act and related rules and regulations.
The selected candidates will follow the new pension rules of the government and will need to sign an agreement.
The chairman of the SLPRB has the right to change, cancel, or delay the recruitment process.
Candidates should only take physical tests if they are in good health. The SLPRB is not responsible for any injuries during the tests.
If false information or fake documents are found at any point, the candidate may face criminal charges. xii. The selection board’s decision is final for any clarifications.
The number of available positions may change and the final decision on appointment will be based on merit and the final list of candidates.
The final appointment is subject to a satisfactory police verification and medical examination report. If either of these reports is not satisfactory, the candidate’s application will be rejected.
The rules and conditions of training and employment will follow those of the Assam Police Radio Organization. xvi. The SLPRB’s decision on the selection of a candidate is final and binding.

How to prepare a passport-size photograph for the post of Subinspector APRO?
Photograph- The photograph must be in color and taken in a professional studio. Photos taken with a mobile phone or self-composed portraits are not acceptable.
The background of the photograph must be white or very light.
The photograph must have been taken after January 1st, 2023.
The face should occupy approximately 50% of the photo and look directly into the camera.
The main features of the face should not be covered by hair, clothing, or shadows. The forehead, eyes, nose, cheeks, lips, and chin should be clearly visible.
If you wear glasses, make sure there is no glare on the lenses. This can be avoided by tilting the glasses slightly downward for the photo shoot.
Only clear glasses are permitted, not spectacles with dark or tinted lenses.

How to prepare a signature for the post of Subinspector APRO?
The signature must be made using black or dark blue ink on white paper.
Have a professional photo studio scan and crop the signature digitally.
Only JPEG image formats will be accepted.
The maximum resolution of the signature image should be 800 x 300 pixels.
The minimum resolution of the signature image should be 400 x 150 pixels.
The signature image should be 3.5 cm in width and 2.5 cm in height.
