FAQ-

What does the assistant professor do?

An assistant professor is a faculty member at a college or university who is responsible for teaching, research, and service. Assistant professors typically have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in their field of expertise and are in the early stages of their academic careers. They are typically on a tenure track, meaning that they are working towards the goal of being awarded tenure, which is a permanent position. Assistant professors typically teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses, conduct research, and engage in service activities within the department, university, and/or community. They may also advise students, participate in departmental and university committees, and contribute to the development of academic programs.

What do you mean by UGC?

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body in India that is responsible for coordinating, determining, and maintaining standards of higher education in the country. If you are an assistant professor at a university or college in India and are seeking recognition from the UGC, you typically need to meet certain qualifications and criteria. These may include having a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in your field of expertise, a strong record of research, teaching, and service, and relevant experience in your field. You may also be required to have a certain number of years of post-doctoral experience or the publication of a certain number of research articles in peer-reviewed journals. It is important to note that the qualifications and criteria for recognition by the UGC may vary depending on the specific discipline or subject area in which you are working, as well as the requirements of the specific university or institution where you are employed.
