Assam career, The Department of Elementary Education in Assam is set to hire various teaching and non-teaching positions in schools across the region. The recruitment process has already been completed through the tender process.

Previously, the Department of Elementary Education (DEE) had issued a tender notice for the selection of firms or agencies to provide technical support in the hiring of teaching and non-teaching personnel under the Department of School Education.

Two bidders, Akhay Tel Communication and MS Neicom Impressions participated in the tender on January 17th, 2023. MS Neicom Impressions emerged victorious, with a composite score of 100. This score makes them eligible to be chosen as the agency for technical support in the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 40 for the unreserved category, 42 for Ex-Servicemen, 43 for OBC/MOBC, 45 for SC/ST(P)/ST(H), and 50 for Persons with Disability (PwD), as of January 1st, 2023.

Eligibility

To be eligible for applying for the teaching positions, candidates must have passed the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) conducted by the Department of Elementary Education, Assam. Those who have passed the ATET will be eligible to apply after the results are declared.

The language selected by the candidate as Language-I in the ATET must match the medium of instruction of the school they wish to apply to. For instance, if the candidate wants to apply to an Assamese medium school, they must have selected Assamese as Language-I in the ATET. The same rule applies to Bodo/Garo/Bengali/Manipuri/Hindi/Hmar medium schools.

This rule (Condition-2) applies to Assistant Teachers of LP Schools and Assistant Teachers and Science Teachers of UP Schools.

The rule does not apply to Assamese Language Teachers and Manipuri Language Teachers of UP Schools.

Merit lists will be created separately for each district and category.

There will be a reservation/relaxation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) as per Govt.

There will be a reservation of vacancies for women as per “The Assam Women (Reservation of Vacancies in Services and Posts) (Amendment) Act. 2010”.

No person with more than two living children after January 1st, 2023 from single or multiple partners is eligible for appointment, as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms, and the guidelines contained in the Notifications.

Candidates must submit a declaration at the time of online application as per the provisions contained in the Notifications. The declaration must be filled out and signed by the candidate during the submission of the online application.

Eligible candidates must apply online on the official website of the Department of Elementary Education, Assam mentioned below.

The candidate’s online application and submitted documents will be verified through technology, such as DigiLocker, and by scanning barcodes or QR codes for authenticity, as well as through back-office verification by relevant authorities.

Physical document verification may also be conducted at any time with proper notice. The candidate must ensure that all information and documents uploaded are genuine and will bear full responsibility for their accuracy.

No corrections can be made once submitted, and any misrepresentation of facts may result in disqualification of the candidate’s application.

If the candidate is found to have committed fraud, provided false information, or misrepresented facts in any way, their candidacy will be immediately canceled. The candidate will also be banned from participating in any future government recruitment processes and legal action may be taken against them.

Regular teachers working in LP schools are not eligible to apply for any LP school positions, and regular teachers working in UP schools are not eligible to apply for any UP school positions. However, regular LP teachers who meet the eligibility requirements may apply for positions in UP schools through proper channels.

In accordance with the “Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” and in compliance with the Elementary Education Department of the Government of Assam’s letter No. PMA.160/2018/176 dated 02/11/2018, the reservation for persons with disabilities is as follows: 1% for blindness and low vision, 1% for deaf and hard of hearing, and 1% for locomotor disability, including cerebral palsy, leprosy cure, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy.

A candidate may only apply for one position in one district. Any deviation from this requirement will result in the immediate cancellation of the candidate’s candidacy.

This is in accordance with NCTE Notification No. NCTE-Regl 012/16/2018 dated 28/06/2018.

Reservation policies for various groups, including OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PwD/Women/EWS/Ex-servicemen, will be followed according to the existing government rules.
