Name of the posts- JAIL WARDER

Number of Posts- 253

Eligibility Criteria– Passed matriculation (H.S.L.C) in any discipline from a government-recognized School or Institution.

Salary- Pay Scale RS 14000-60,500/ (Pay Band II), WITH GRADE PAY OF RS. 5200. Plus other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Age Limit- Minimum 18 to maximum 40 years as of 01/01/2023. Candidate must be born on or before 01/01/2005 and on or after 01/01/1983.

Age Relaxation- Relaxation of age for the reserved category candidates, mentioned below-

Application fee- No application fee.

How to Apply-

Applications must be submitted online through the SLPRB website only. No other forms of application will be entertained. Candidates must follow the following steps during the submission of the online application-

Register in the Portal using valid mobile number. (Note: Candidates are advised to keep the mobile number unchanged until the recruitment process is over).

After successful registration candidates will get a Recruitment ID.

Documents needed-

Scan copy of the photograph, signature, thumb impression, and handwritten declaration ensuring that both the photograph and signature adhere to the required specifications.

A valid personal email ID and mobile number should be kept active till the completion of this Recruitment Process.

Certificate of proof of age. (Admit Card /Certificate of H.S.L.C. or equivalent examination)

Pass Certificate of HSLC or equivalent examination.

Mark sheet of HSLC or equivalent examination.

In the case of an Ex-serviceman, he/she must upload a Copy of Discharged Book and a Copy of the Identity Card of the Ex-Serviceman.

Employment Exchange Registration Card.

Certificate of Caste from Competent Authority. NO CASTE CERTIFICATE ISSUED BY OTHER STATES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

NCC certificate issued by Competent Authority, if any (for which the candidate would be claiming weightage marks).

SELECTION PROCEDURE-

Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respects will be called for PST and PET. If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the DLSC / Selection Committee, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the other tests. The date (s) and venue (s) for the tests will be intimated in due course of time. The candidates will have to appear in PST and PET at the venue (s) as decided by SLPRB. The Chairman reserves the right to change the venue of the test and no representation etc. will be entertained in this regard.

1. PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST- 40 Marks.

2. WRITTEN TEST- 50 Marks

Important Points-

Canvassing directly or indirectly shall render such candidates unfit for the post.

No TA / DA will be admissible to candidates for the journey and stay at any stage of the recruitment process.

The selection list confers no right to appointment unless the department is satisfied with the suitability of the candidate after a thorough medical examination and such inquiry and verification as may be considered necessary before appointment to the service/post.

Candidates have to appear in all the stages of recruitment. If a candidate is absent from any stage/event, his / her candidature will be canceled.

Candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process if found not conforming to the official format / having incomplete information / wrong information/incomplete requisite certificate/misrepresentation of facts/impersonation.

The select list will remain valid for appointment from the date of announcement of the result for one year or till the date of the next advertisement of a similar post whichever is earlier.

On appointment, the candidate shall be governed by the Rules and Orders of the Prison Department and Rules and Orders of the Government issued from time to time.

Appointed persons shall be entitled to pension benefits as per the pension scheme existing at the time of appointment.

The Chairman, SLPRB, Assam reserves the right to make changes or cancel or postpone the recruitment process on specific grounds.

The physical tests are strenuous and candidates who are in proper medical condition only should take the tests. The SLPRB / Assam Police will not be liable for any injury or casualty suffered by a candidate during the tests due to any pre-existing medical condition of the candidate concerned.

Fake documents / false information/misrepresentation of facts shall lead to rejection if detected at any stage before/after the appointment and shall make the candidate liable to criminal proceedings as per existing law.

Selected candidates shall have to sign an agreement whereby he/she will be required to serve a minimum period of 3 (three) years after successful completion of training or in default to refund the cost of training and traveling expenses paid by the government.

In case of any clarification, the decision of the SLPRB will be final.

The numbers of posts (vacancies) are subject to change. It may increase or decrease at any time /stage of the recruitment process, due to administrative reasons and appointment to such vacancies will be decided by the competent authority at the time of appointment, based on merit, category-wise as per the final merit list.

The final appointment after selection is subject to a satisfactory Police Verification Report and Final Medical Examination Report as per existing norms. In case Police Verification Report or Final Medical Examination Report is found unsatisfactory, the candidature of such candidates will be rejected outright.

The rules & regulations, terms & conditions of training, and afterward will be applicable as prevalent in Prison Department.
