Educational qualifications
The candidate must be a graduate of a UGC-recognized University as of the date of advertisement.
Should possess a Diploma, Certificate in Stenography, or Shorthand from ITI, Polytechnic, and any other institute. Candidates who are pursuing Stenography, Shorthand may also apply. However, they must submit a passed, completion certificate, and diploma to the High Court at the time of document verification, unless otherwise decided by the High Court.
Must have adequate knowledge of the official language (Assamese) of the State of Assam.

How to Apply
Candidates must apply online, and eligible candidates must follow the steps below on the home page of the website.
Provide primary credentials, such as name, father’s name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID to register as an applicant.
Upon submission, the system will generate a Registration Code, prominently displayed on the same page. Although the system is designed to send an immediate email acknowledging the Registration Code and corresponding date of birth, network congestion may prevent the email from being delivered.
Candidates are advised to carefully note down the Registration Code.
The combination of the Registration Code and date of birth will serve as login details for the next three phases.
In Phase 2, the candidate must provide profile details, such as gender, category, address, qualifications, experience, and other relevant information, and save the data by clicking the “Save and Next” button.
The applicant can also upload their photograph image and signature image in this phase. Only .jpg, .png, or .gif image formats will be accepted, and the image size should be between 5 KB and 30 KB. The dimensions of the photographic image and signature image should be as indicated in the advertisement.
Assam career 25/01/2023 Selection Criteria
Court Manager- Written examination: Candidates must appear in an OMR-based written examination of 25 Marks.
Stenographer: Candidates must appear in a written examination of 70 marks, a skill test of 100 marks, and a viva voce of 10 marks.
Important Points
The Gauhati High Court reserves the right to fix/alter the cut-off marks in the Written Test.
In the case of candidates obtaining equal marks (in the stenography test and viva-voce), one who obtains more marks in the Stenography test will be given preference. Where the marks obtained by such candidates in the Stenography test are also the same, the candidate who is senior in
Candidates willing to apply for both posts have to submit a separate application by paying separate application fees.
Merely satisfying the eligibility criteria will not entitle a candidate to be called for the written examination /skill test/viva-voce etc.
Candidates need not submit any testimonial/ certificate at the time of submission of the online application. However, candidates have to produce their original testimonials regarding educational qualifications, stenography skills, computer applications, date of birth, caste, working experience, etc. at subsequent stages when asked for.
The number of posts may vary at the time of final selection.
No person, who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living or who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the aforementioned posts.
The admission of candidates at all stages of the selection process shall be purely provisional and subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility criteria. If on verification at any time before or after the selection process, it is found that a candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature shall stand canceled without any notice. Mere calling of the candidate to written examination/skill test/interview etc. or issuance of admit card/call letter etc. does not mean acceptance of candidature of any candidate which shall be further scrutinized at every stage and the High Court reserves the right to reject the candidature of any candidate at any time. The provisional list of the candidates, with Roll Nos. will be published on the High Court website for the candidates’ reference.
No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for appearing in the written test/skill test/viva-voce etc.
Candidates who are already in the Government Service may apply after intimating their employers regarding the submission of online application forms for the advertised vacancies.
They shall have to produce a “No Objection Certificate” from their present employer at the time of document verification and they shall have to produce a release order at the time of appointment.
The High Court may decide not to issue any admit card/call letter etc. to any candidate and may decide to call candidates to a written examination/skill test/interview etc. by publishing a notification on the official website and notice board of the High Court.
Candidates are advised to visit the official website of the High Court regularly for updates and important information. Unnecessary correspondence should be avoided.
Application form, which is incomplete in any respect, such as without the photograph and signature upload, is liable to be rejected summarily unless otherwise decided by the High Court.
Any information submitted by an applicant in his/her application will bind the candidate personally.
The candidate will be responsible for any mistake made by him/her in the application form and the High Court shall not be responsible or liable in any way. Assam career 25/01/2023.
The certificate for a claim of reservation must be issued by the competent authority.
The High Court may put the finally selected candidates on probation for a period of 2(two) years.
The High Court reserves the right to cause dismissal from service of any selected candidate during the period of probation without assigning any reason thereof.
District and establishment-wise allocation of finally selected candidates and their transfer shall be as decided by the High Court. The decision of the High Court in all such matters shall be final. Assam career 25/01/2023.
If any candidate is found canvassing directly or indirectly, his/her candidature will be rejected.
The High Court reserves the right to cancel the advertisement, or alter any terms and conditions of the advertisement at any stage.
The examination materials will be destroyed, due to scarcity of space, after one year of publication of the final select list, unless otherwise decided by the High Court.
All other matters which are not specifically provided in this advertisement shall be decided by the High Court.
