Educational qualifications
A Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade on a point scale from a recognized university, wherever the grading system is followed.
A Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline(s) from the institution concerned with equivalent publication work. Associate Professors/Professors with a total of fifteen years of experience in teaching/research/administration in universities, colleges, and other institutions of higher education.
A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on the Performance-Based Appraisal System (PBAS) in Appendix III for direct recruitment of Professors in Colleges.
A minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals. A minimum of 110 research score as per Appendix-II of Table 2 as per UGC guideline 20.07.2018.
For SC/ST/Differently-abled (physically and visually differently-abled) categories, a relaxation of 5% marks may be provided at the graduate and master’s levels for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic records.
The eligibility marks of 55% in the equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.
A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.
The upper age limit is 55 years as of 01.01.2023 as per Govt. of Assam Notification No. AHE/17/2013/3 dated 26.12.2013. The term of the Principal shall be 5 years as per Govt. guidelines.
