An admission notice has been issued concerning the 1st-year MBBS/BDS courses in the Government Medical & Dental Colleges of Assam following the conclusion of the 2nd Round of Online Counselling session in 2023. For the benefit of all concerned parties, it is hereby informed that the provisional select list of candidates after the 2nd round of online counselling for admission into the 1st year MBBS/BDS courses, session 2023 in the Government Medical & Dental Colleges of Assam under Assam State quota seats has been published. The list is currently available on the official website of the Directorate, www.dme.assam.gov.in. Selected candidates who are either newly allotted or have changed their college are directed to report to the office of the Principal of their respective colleges with the following terms and conditions on 7th & 8th September 2023, failing which their allotment shall be cancelled: All admissions shall be provisional and will be subject to fulfillment of all the requisite eligibility criteria as per the MBBS/BDS Admission Rule, 2017 (amended up to 2023) and subject to the outcome of the final verdict of the Hon’ble Gauhati High Court in WP(C) No. 3868 of 2023 (Jesmin Ara Ahmed Vs State of Assam & Ors.). Candidates must bring all necessary original documents along with the admission and counselling fees amounting (approx. Rs. 25,000/-) at the time of admission. Candidates shall have to deposit the original Admit Cards, Marks Sheets, Pass Certificates of HSLC and HSSLC or equivalent examination, caste certificate, and documents as specified in the MBBS/BDS Admission Rule, 2017 (amended up to 2023), to the Principal of their respective colleges at the time of admission upon receipt of acknowledgment from the college authority. The admission of the candidates is subject to the satisfactory Medical Fitness Certificate issued by the Medical Board constituted by the respective Principal of the Colleges. Candidates who were admitted into the MBBS/BDS courses for the session 2023 after the 1st round of counselling and were subsequently re-allotted MBBS/BDS seats in the 2nd counselling of state quota seats, their earlier seats and institution shall be automatically cancelled. Candidates who have been re-allotted seats at the time of the 2nd counselling are required to first collect their original documents with a release letter from the respective Principals of the college into which they were previously admitted. Only after this should they report to the Principal of the re-allotted course and college for admission. Any candidate who furnishes false information/declaration at the time of online selection or admission is liable to have their admission cancelled at any point in time. Criminal proceedings shall be initiated against such candidates for the submission of false, fabricated documents/information under appropriate law. All candidates must enter into an agreement as per the admission rule in the prescribed format, which will be available on the Directorate's website www.dme.assam.gov.in. Candidates are required to submit the agreement within 15 days from the date of their admission in the office of the Principals of their respective colleges. College uniform is compulsory for all students in all the Medical & Dental Colleges. College authorities will prescribe the necessary dress code.
