Salary Structure

The remuneration includes the Pay Scale, Grade Pay, and additional allowances in accordance with the prevailing regulations for Assam State Government employees subject to revisions (per month). The range is Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 1,10,000.

Educational Qualifications

• (a) Candidates should possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics from a recognized university or an equivalent institution. Alternatively, A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics as a major subject, along with a Diploma recognized by the Government, obtained after completing at least 2 (two) years of Post Graduate Training in Statistics. (Please upload valid supporting documents.) Note: A Doctorate or other research degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics would be considered desirable.
• (b) Additionally, applicants must have: A minimum of 10 (ten) years of experience in Statistical Work, Investigation, or Research within a Government Department, a reputable Commercial entity, or a demonstrated record of conducting and guiding Statistical Research in a University or Research Institute, as evidenced by published work.

Age Criteria

Applicants must be at least 35 years old and no more than 45 years old as of October 1, 2023. However, candidates belonging to the Assam Economics & Statistical Service will have no upper age limit.

The age of candidates will be determined based on the information provided in their Matriculation / HSLC Admit Card or pass certificate issued by a recognized Central/State Board/Council, clearly indicating their Age/Date of Birth (DOB). No alternative documentation will be considered as a substitute for the specified documents to establish age verification.

All applicants must submit their applications online through the APSC’s dedicated recruitment website. No other forms or methods of application will be accepted, and any application submitted through alternative means will be promptly rejected.

For those who haven’t yet registered on APSC’s Online Recruitment Portal, it is necessary to visit the APSC’s recruitment website at https://apscrecruitment.in. Click on the ‘Register Here’ link to initiate the One Time Registration (OTR) process by providing essential details.

IMPORTANT

• It is advised that candidates use a valid and active email address during the online application process. Information regarding interview schedules, certificate requirements, and other details related to claims made in the application will be communicated through the Commission’s website in due course.
• Once an account is created, applicants should log in using their credentials.
• Upon logging in, applicants are required to furnish One Time Registration details, including Personal Information, Educational Qualifications, Work Experience, a recent Photo (Minimum size: 50 KB & Maximum size: 200 KB, not older than 3 months), a Signature (Minimum size: 50 KB & Maximum size: 200 KB), and other necessary documents. After providing these details, applicants can download their One Time Registration details. Subsequently, they can access the Applicant Section and proceed to the Apply Section link to submit the application form.
• Applicants are strongly advised to thoroughly review the eligibility criteria and other pertinent details before applying. Mandatory fields within the online form are marked with an asterisk (*).
• Candidates must accurately input document details such as Certificate Number, Issue Date, Issuing Authority, and upload supporting documents/certificates as requested. These documents should support the claims made in the application form, such as Date of Birth, Experience, Qualifications, etc. Documents should be uploaded in PDF format, not exceeding 2 MB in size and maintaining legibility (scanned at 200 dpi grayscale).
• The Certificate or mark sheet of the provided degree should clearly display the candidate’s name and the awarded degree, or subjects as specified in the Advertisement.
• Document details provided in the online application form will be verified during the personal Viva-Voce Interview.
• Applicants should fill out all required information in the application form accurately and click on the checkbox for declarations to enable the ‘Preview’ button before final submission.
• Before final submission, ensure all fields are correctly filled out, as editing after submission is not possible.
• Documents to be uploaded, including educational qualifications and age proof, should be checked through the preview option to ensure legibility before final submission.
• After reviewing the filled details, applicants can either click ‘Submit’ for final submission or ‘Cancel’ for necessary corrections before final submission.
• Upon completing the form, applicants need to pay the application fee along with the applicable processing fee.
• Please note, once the application fee is paid, it is non-refundable.
• In case of payment failure, applicants can click ‘Validate Payment’ to verify the payment with the bank. In cases of double debit or other transaction issues, the bank will automatically refund the fee within 5-7 working days.
• After successfully completing the application, an auto-generated email confirmation will be sent to the registered email address.
• Applications will not be considered if the required fee is not paid for that specific application.
• Applicants without debit cards or internet banking can also use Common Service Centers to fill out their online forms.
• Candidates with less than 40% disability will not be eligible for relaxation applicable to persons with benchmark disabilities.
• Applicants should submit only one Online Recruitment Application per post. If multiple applications are inadvertently submitted for one post, the application with the higher “Application Number” must be complete, including fee payment. Fees paid for one “Application Number” cannot be adjusted for any other “Application Number.”
• After submitting the Online Application, candidates should print and retain a hardcopy of the finally submitted Online Recruitment Application.
• To avoid last-minute hassles, candidates are strongly advised to submit the Online Recruitment Application well in advance, without waiting for the closing date.
