Job news Assam – Assam Public Service Commission invites applications from Indian Citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India for the following posts under the Assam Government. The selected candidates will receive a scale of pay and usual allowances as per the rules of the Government of Assam.

A. Scientific Officer for Directorate of Forensic Science, Guwahati, Assam

• Number of Posts: 1 (One)
• Scale of Pay: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- + Grade Pay Rs. 12,700/- per month

Distribution of Post (Division wise):

• Explosives Division: 1 (One) post

Essential Education Qualification:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry or M.Sc. in Physics or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry/Physics from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualification:

• Research/analytical/scientific photography experience.

B. Scientific Officer for Regional Forensic Science Laboratories

• Number of Posts: 12 (Twelve)
• Scale of Pay: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- + Grade Pay Rs. 12,700/- per month

Distribution of Posts (Division wise):

• Instrumentation Division: 3 (Three) posts
• Questioned Documents Division: 2 (Two) posts
• Drugs and Narcotics Division: 3 (Three) posts
• Toxicology Division: 2 (Two) posts
• Biology Division: 1 (One) post
• Serology Division: 1 (One) post

Essential Education Qualification:

• Various qualifications as per division (Check official advertisement for details)

Desirable Qualification:

• Research/analytical/scientific photography experience.

Age (for the posts at Sl – (A) & (B)

Candidates should be between 21 and 38 years of age as of 01/01/2023, with relaxations for SC/ST and OBC/MOBC candidates as per government regulations.

C. Junior Scientific Officer for Mobile Forensic Laboratories

• Number of Posts: 7 (Seven)
• Scale of Pay: Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 97,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 11,800 per month

Distribution of Posts (Division wise):

• Biology Division: 3 (Three) posts
• Chemistry Division: 2 (Two) posts
• Physics Division: 2 (Two) posts

Essential Education Qualification:

• Various qualifications as per division (Check official advertisement for details)

Desirable Qualification:

• Research/analytical/scientific photography experience.

Eligibility Criteria (for the posts at Sl – (A), (B), & (C)

• Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam.
• Applicants must submit a declaration regarding “The Small Family Norms” in Form – A at the time of applying.
